Wrong Shaw

Do you get all excited when you see the name SHAW? I know I do. But there are a whole lotta "Shaws" out there that have absolutely nothing to do with Sebastian Shaw.  At least not at first glance. Maybe some of these examples are 'in the family.'  Either way, check out some of these unrelated Shaws:

Shaw's Supermarkets are located in the New England states.  Even if they're not in your area, all US and Canada residents are eligible for a Shaw's Rewards Card.  There's nothing as rewarding as having Shaw in your wallet or purse.

Apparently there's some comic book character with the name Sebastian Shaw.  Coincidence?  You tell me.

If you're really into mutant comic book characters  with the superhuman ability to absorb kinetic energy and use it in an unknown manner to enhance their own physical strength, speed, and stamina, then you're at the wrong website.

The Dark Shadows TV show, some sort of fantasy soap opera with vampires, had a character named Sebastian Shaw in 1970.  No indication if the character was a good guy or bad guy. Or if he was a mutant with the superhuman ability to absorb kinetic energy and use it in an unknown manner to enhance his own physical strength, speed, and stamina. Playing the role was Chris Pennock

No, this is Sebastian the Crab, from The Little Mermaid.  He lives under the sea. Note the next entry. Sebastian the crab?  Shaw's Crab House?  Hmm,,,

Shaw's Crab House is a premiere Seafood restaurant in Chicago and Schaumburg, Illinois. To my knowledge, Sebastian Shaw has never been there. I've known two people that have dined in, and neither one saw a picture of Sebastian Shaw on the wall.

Shaw University, founded in 1865, is the oldest historically black college of the Southern US.  Located in North Carolina, Shaw is a private, co-educational, liberal arts university affiliated with the Baptist Church.  Shaw University is apparently not affiliated with Sebastian Shaw.

The USS Shaw was a 1,500-ton Mahan-class destroyer built in 1936. She was dry-docked in the Navy Yard when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941.  Enemy aircraft bombed the USS Shaw, but did not destroy her completely. She returned to the war zone in 1943, and served as an escort ship in the Western Pacific.  The USS Shaw was named after John Shaw, a US Naval Commander from the early 1800's, and not Sebastian Shaw after all.

These folks have their own Shaw Festival! I wish I had a souvenir T-Shirt!  And their phone number is great, too!
1-800-511-SHAW

Shaw Island is an online comic about hamsters. It's named after a real island.  Sebastian Shaw has not made a guest appearance, to our knowledge.
